Selime defended her dissertation and is now in Charleston, South Carolina, for a year-long pre-doctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there, Selime will be engaging in clinical intervention and research with trauma survivors.

CONGRATULATIONS MAX!!!
Max Katsikas graduated from Miami University in May of 2022. He completed an honors thesis under the direction of Dr. Messman and mentored by Seth Wilensky. That project focused on men's experiences of sexual violence across their lifetime (childhood and adulthood), emotion dysregulation, masculine norms and problematic alcohol use. This fall Max is a new graduate student in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at Northern Illinois University under the mentorship of Dr. Holly Orcutt. Congratulations, Max, we know you will be a great scholar and clinician!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Carleigh is starting the Ph.D. program in neuroscience at Georgetown University this semester (Fall 2022). Carleigh Turner is a former research assistant and is currently collaborating with Dr. Messman and Seth Wilensky on a project related to interpersonal trauma and hoarding. Previously, she was a a Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). After graduating from Miami University Carleigh worked for 3 years in the clinical sector of psychology. During this time she was a behavioral health technician at a drug addiction rehabilitation center and a crisis counselor for runaway youth. Carleigh also completed a master’s program in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, under a fellowship from Division 55 of the American Psychological Association (APA). Her focus was the utilization of non-stimulant treatments for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
